SEQ Weather is looking for suitable locations across Southeast Queensland to host live weather webcams.
Our webcam network helps people see what the weather is actually doing on the ground — from approaching storms and heavy rain to fog, flooding, changing conditions and everyday weather across the region.
Got a good view?
We’re interested in locations with a clear view of the surrounding area or sky, including:
- Businesses and commercial buildings
- Rural properties and farms
- Community organisations and clubs
- Lookouts and elevated locations
- Properties overlooking ranges, valleys or open country
- Locations near areas regularly affected by storms, flooding or other weather events
- Areas where SEQ Weather currently has limited camera coverage
You don’t necessarily need to be on top of a mountain. A reliable location with a useful view can be just as valuable.
What’s involved?
SEQ Weather can provide and configure the webcam equipment for approved locations.
Depending on the site, the camera will normally require access to power and an internet connection. We can discuss the installation, camera position and technical requirements with you before anything goes ahead.
The camera is used for weather monitoring and will be positioned with privacy in mind. We’re interested in the weather and the view — not looking into neighbouring properties or private areas.
Why host a camera?
By hosting a SEQ Weather webcam, you’ll be helping expand a locally operated weather monitoring network used by people across Southeast Queensland.
For businesses, clubs and community organisations, we can also identify the location hosting the camera where appropriate.
Our aim is to continue building better real-time coverage across SEQ, particularly in locations where conditions can vary significantly over relatively short distances.
